The MongoDB Agent replaces the legacy Monitoring, Backup, and Automation Agents with a single unified agent. The procedure you follow depends on which legacy Agents your hosts run and whether Automation manages them.
Update Scenarios
Choose the scenario that matches your project:
Scenario | When to Use |
|---|---|
Update from all legacy Agents | Your project has automated MongoDB deployments that use Monitoring, Backup, or both. |
Update from the legacy Monitoring Agent | Your project has monitored MongoDB deployments that Automation doesn't manage. |
Update from the legacy Backup and Monitoring Agents | Your project has monitored and backed up MongoDB deployments that Automation doesn't manage. |
Update from Deployments with Managed and Unmanaged Agents | Your project has automated MongoDB deployments that include both Automation-managed and standalone Backup and Monitoring Agents. |
Each scenario lists the prerequisites to review before you start and the steps to complete after the update finishes.
